Love it is the one thing we all want and crave.
Why is it so hard to find? Why is it so hard to keep?
I was watching the news this morning when two Hollywood marriages were stating their divorce announcements. We seem to have a long list of divorces happening around us. Have you ever stopped to think about why the statistics are so high?
In today’s society we have come to misuse the word love profoundly. The evidence is reflected in our relationships or the lack there of.
In all honesty most people marry because they lust after one another not love one another.
God sets a high bar when it comes to love. After all He defines himself as LOVE. I think it is only right that we use the Bible to define the qualities of this word.
Here is a side by side list of the difference of love and lust.
Love - gives – patient – kind – not jealous – does not brag -is not arrogant – does not rejoice in unrighteousness – bears all things -believes all things – hopes all things -endures all things – love never fails
Lust – impatient -unkind
-jealous -brags
– arrogant
– enjoys unrighteous
-impatient – doesn’t believe in God
– hopeless -intolerant
